"Committed
to Excellence” is the phrase which best describes
Certified Personal Trainer Ramona Harrilal’s attitude towards helping a person reach their
apex in everyaspect of their lives. Ramona has spent many
yearsperfecting her God-given talent of helping
people improvetheir lives – mentally, spiritually, and
physically. She says: “You only have one body and you should
take the best care of it that you can. Being the best
you can be begins with a decision to change and a positive
mental attitude. You have choices as to what you’re
going to do. You can stop complaining and do something or you
can
accept
yourself as you are and move on.”
Harrilal believes that through concentrated
efforts of commitment, exercise, hard work, diet, and
dedication to self-improvement, the ultimate goal of
satisfaction can be obtained. Ramona is no new-comer to the field of exercise
science and physical training. At an early age, she
decided that health should be a priority for herself as well
as others. While attending high school, she took an
interest in health and physical education, and included health
career classes in her electives and also obtained her EMT
certification.
Upon graduating high school, she enrolled at
Hunter University in New York where she pursued a
Bachelors of Science in Nursing. As her interest grew, she desired certification
so that she could offer clients the very best fitness
training available. After Harrilal obtained her ISSA and IFA
certification in Personal Training and Nutrition, she continued
to perfect her skills as a trainer at Rockville Center in
New York and at Gold’s Gym in Ellenwood, Georgia. Because of
her certification, she is able to offer group
fitness instruction,
as well as
one-on-one physical and cardio training. Clients can gain
valuable knowledge and get assistance in the areas of meal
planning, food preparation, and diet recommendations as
well. As an athlete, Harrilal is no stranger to
competition. Most recently, evidence of her training and skills
were exhibited as she competed at the Coastal USA Bodybuilding
Contest at the Gwinett Performing Arts Center. In 2007,
Harrilal decided to go professional after competing in
the World National Bodybuilding Figure Contest in
Savannah.
Upcoming contests are slated for March 28 at the
Gwinett Performing Arts Center; May 9 in North Carolina;
and August 26-28 in Ohio. She is also an avid
kick-boxer. Harrilal’s perseverance, hard work,
determination, and her lifelong dream and vision of owning and
operating a premiere fitness center recently came into
fruition with the opening of TOP Fitness Center, located in South
Dekalb at the Trinity Office Park, 4153-C Flat Shoals
Parkway. She is available for consultation through appointments,
